At Precision Dental, as a daily practice, we assure universal precautions as outlined by CDC and OSHA standards of infection control. Safety is always our number one focus. Our high standard of care ensures that your trust and safety are never compromised. Due to the widespread outbreak of COVID-19, Precision Dental has updated some of our daily procedures and implemented new technology. You will still receive the same exemplary service from our dedicated team, however to ensure the safety of all our patients here are some changes we have implemented below.

We are taking extended measures to further protect all our patients and team with the
following additional protocols:

Prescreening Protocols

  • respiratory-system

Have you or someone close to you had any contact with individuals that may have shown symptoms of respiratory illness, which includes but is not limited to sore throat, sneezing, coughing or fever?

  • travel

Have you have traveled internationally in the last 14 days?

  • high risk

Have you visited or occupied any area that the government has determined is high-risk?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, please call to reschedule your appointment once you or your close contact’s symptoms have resolved. In compliance with the recommendations for public health, anyone with a cough or fever will not be allowed in the building and should stay home. Although we can make no promises, we can assure you that we will work hard to accommodate you and your schedule.

  • Before your appointment, we ask you to stay in your car instead of the waiting room until we're ready to seat you in your personal operatory. Simply call us when you arrive, and we will let you know when we're ready for you. If necessary, the waiting room will be available for you to use.

  • Please wear a mask to the office. This is recommended by the CDC to slow the spread of COVID-19. Cloth masks are also recommended and more information about them can be found here or on the CDC website at cdc.gov.

  • Only individuals getting treatment will be allowed in the waiting area and treatment rooms. There will be exceptions on a case by case basis in regards to minors, elderly patients that need assistance, along with special needs patients. All other individuals not receiving treatment will be asked to wait in the car.

  • Upon entering Precision Dental, you will be asked additional prescreening questions, wash or sanitize your hands, have your temperature taken, sign any necessary documents, finalize payment, and be escorted to the treatment room.

  • Additionally, we are requesting you wash or sanitize your hands before re-entering the business areas.

You will notice that our dental team will also be wearing additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect you and ourselves, and we will be minimizing contact as much as we can whenever possible. Our team will also be monitored daily and will continue with the recommended guidelines outlined by CDC and OSHA.

Please rest assured that we will do everything in our power to keep you and our staff healthy. We greatly appreciate your help in accomplishing this goal and are certain that together, we will be able to provide both the safe environment and the quality care that you have come to expect from our practice. You can expect measures at Precision Dental will continue to evolve as more information develops.

New Technology

Air Purifiers and Filtered Solutions for Coronavirus

To add an extra layer of protection for our staff and patients, we have installed Phenomenal Aire air purifiers with the addition of HEPA-like filters in the office to combat the fight against the Coronavirus. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has made its way across the world, it has become imperative to find different solutions to help prevent the spread of the virus in any capacity available. HEPA filter tests up to 99.97% efficiency on particles down to 0.3 microns in size, and have the capability to filter down to 0.01 micron. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) falls in between 0.06 micron (60 nanometers) and 0.14 micron (140 nanometers) in diameter. In a 2016-study by NASA, it was tested and proven that HEPA filters were most efficient (almost 100%) at filtering particles at 0.01 micron, below the normal 0.3 test standard for HEPA filters.

Isolite System by Zyris

Over 90% of aerosols can be eliminated with proper suction – that’s where the Isolite® comes in. By reducing the amount of spatter and aerosols while working, we can also reduce and slow the spread of COVID-19. The Isolite’s suction capabilities allow continuous evacuating of saliva and debris, eliminating the problems that moisture and humidity can cause during procedures. The Isolite provides superior isolation through fitted mouthpieces, protecting soft tissues and airways in addition to providing necessary retraction. This provides another layer of protection to our patients and dental team. Here is a study of the effectiveness of the Isolite system with reducing aerosols and spatter.
